A Range Adjusted Measure of Super-Efficiency in Integer-Valued Data Envelopment Analysis with Undesirable Outputs

چکیده

Abstract DEA (data envelopment analysis) models can be divided into two groups: Radial and non-radial DEA, the latter has higher discriminatory power than former. The range adjusted measure (RAM) is an effective widely used approach. However, to best of our knowledge, there no literature on integer-valued super-efficiency RAM-DEA model, especially when undesirable outputs are included. We first propose model with then extend this outputs. Compared other models, novel have many advantages: 1) They non-oriented which enable decision makers simultaneously non-proportionally improve inputs outputs; 2) handle variables outputs, so results obtained more reliable; 3) easily as it based linear programming; 4) accurately rank efficient DMUs. proposed applied evaluate efficiency China’s regional transportation systems (RTSs) considering number transport accidents (an output). help performance inefficient RTSs analyze strengths RTSs.

Additive super-efficiency in integer-valued data envelopment analysis

Conventional data envelopment analysis (DEA) methods assume that input and output variables are continuous. However, in many real managerial cases, some inputs and/or outputs can only take integer values. Simply rounding the performance targets to the nearest integers can lead to misleading solutions and efficiency evaluation. Addressing this kind of integer-valued data, the current paper propo...

Weak Disposability in Integer-Valued Data Envelopment Analysis

Conventional data envelopment analysis (DEA) models normally assume all inputs and outputs are real valued and continuous. However in problems some inputs and outputs can only take integer values, also, both desirable and undesirable outputs can be generated . In this paper the effect of undesirable outputs in integer DEA model is discussed. The proposed model distinguishes weak disposability o...

Development of Data Envelopment Analysis for the Performance Evaluation of Green Supply Chain with Undesirable Outputs

A fundamental problem is the use of DEA in multistep or multilevel processes such as supply chain, lack of attention to processes’ internal communications in a way that the recent studies on DEA in the context of serial processes have focused on closed systems that the outputs of one level become the inputs of the next level and none of the inputs enter the mediator process. The present study a...

The directional hybrid measure of efficiency in data envelopment analysis

The efficiency measurement is a subject of great interest. The majority of studies on DEA models have been carried out using radial or non-radial approaches regarding the application of DEA for the efficiency measurement. This paper, based on the directional distance function, proposes a new generalized hybrid measure of efficiency under generalized returns to scale with the existence of both r...

Modeling Undesirable Outputs in Data Envelopment Analysis: Various Approaches

The general practice in performance and production efficiency measurement has been to ignore additional products of most transformation processes that can be classified as " undesirable outputs " — which are a subset of the output set. Without the inclusion of these factors, the efficiency evaluation becomes a purely technical measure of the system alone, and does not account for the interactio...
